1. Public system of transportation is presented with the bus and trolleybus networks. Another way to cruise the city is underground. Visitors, who are going to use city transport, should better purchase a travel pass. It can be meant for a day or for certain quantity of rides. Thus one can save up to 40%.
2. Car cruising of the city is rather difficult as the main problem is the absence of free parking lots. It is impossible to find a parking lot in the center of Lausanne. Many streets are closed for cars. Those who crave to see the main sights of the city and to fully embrace their beauty should better travel on foot.
3. The taxi should be called for by phone or taken from specialized parking lots placed around major entertainment and shopping centers. Stopping car in the street is not customary, even if the cab is free the driver will not stop anyway.
4. In the period from April to October there are many bicycles rent centers operating in Lausanne. The bicycle is a perfect way to reach any part of the town. The most profitable rent rates are offered in Lausanne Roule center which is situated in the Flon district.
6. In public places one should be watchful of pick pockets and keep a wary eye on private things. One should not leave by no means the overcoats, bags and purses unkept as well as keep the valuable things and documents by oneself. Lausanne has adopted a system of cashless transfers that is why there is no need to keep sufficient cash sums by oneself.
