From series “Elegant Architectural Structures for Fans of Skywalks”
Travelers who want to have a look at the amazing natural attractions from a height have to go to Germany, to the Bavarian National Park. This nature reserve is the biggest in Europe. A significant part of its area is covered by forests. Here an unusual wooden tower with a complicated name Baumwipfelpfad was built among impenetrable thickets of trees. That's a complex of wooden bridges and tracks, which ends with a dome with a spiral staircase. At the top of the dome, which is directed upwards by 25 meters, there is an observation deck.
The author of the unusual tower of the project is the architect Josef Shteger. Only environmentally friendly materials, i.e. wood and steel, were used in construction. The tower is designed in such a way that even people with physical disabilities are free to move around the surrounding bridges and stairs. Visitors of the complex will have an amazing opportunity to literally walk among the treetops. You can do a lot of great photos from the observation deck.

More than a thousand and five hundred years ago, Malmedy was a part of the independent Principality of Stavelot-Malmedy. This was one of the few independent regions of the Roman Empire. In the mid-7th century, a Benedictine monastery was established in the territory of the modern city. After the opening of the monastery, the settlement started attracting numerous pilgrims from the neighboring regions. For centuries, Malmedy remained an important religious center. An important event for the history of the settlement happened in 1815. After the defeat of Napoleon, the city was added to Prussia. Malmedy turned into a part of the Rhine region.
