India is one of the most populous country in the whole world but even there we can find some quite uninhabited districts. A fine example of it is a Ladakh district. Its thickness of population is just 3 people per square meter. But other than that, Ladakh is the highest region of the country. It is open for visitors only 5 months in a year. Since old times this hard-to-get mountain region was a place for many monasteries and other religious holy places. Every year these places are visited by a great number of pilgrims.
On the territory of the region have placed several small settlements but it is quite hard to meet a man during the foot transition. One of the best places for a private relaxation is Likir Gompa located near the top of the hill in a marvelous valley. The major monastery in the region is Hemis Monastery. Tourists and pilgrims visit this place during important Buddhistic holidays.
Another unique Buddhistic temple is called Sumac. It attracts people not only with its unique architecture but also with a variety of outstanding religious artifacts. If you have already acquainted with all significant Buddhistic temples, you can adore with the variety of regions flora and fauna. In the mountains you can see a great population of oxen and rare black-necked cranes. Also, there are a lot of rare series of trees. In the summertime local herbs are in blossom. It is quite hard to find such peaceful place in the world. This Indian region is a unique one.
