The Canadian Alert village is the most northern settlement in the world. There live less than 10 people. By the way, the village has a huge military base and the Meteorological Watch Office. That’s why in the village live about 70 soldiers and some groups of researchers. Tourists visit this remote village with severe climate once in a lifetime.
The first Meteorological Watch first was built there in 1950. The huge military base appeared there within 8 years. The nearby Canadian city is Edmond. It is located in 3 500 kilometres from the northern village. Summer is not long there, only in July and August the temperature goes above zero.
The coldest month is February. At this time temperature goes lower than 50 degrees Celsius below zero. Notwithstanding the severe conditions, Alert attracts with its snowy beauty. There you can see a great population of ice foxes and polar wolves. In summer you can see how nature wakes up from a long-lasting sleep.
