The Cathedral of Saint John the Divine is one of the most amazing and beautiful historical monuments in New York. The luxurious church in the Gothic style began to be built in 1892. Construction work continued continuously until 1941. It had to be stopped during the Second World War. Construction work was resumed only in 1979. The cathedral continues to be considered unfinished as of the current time. But it impresses visitors to New York with its impressive appearance.

The length of the cathedral building is more than 183 meters. It covers an area of 11,240 square meters. This Anglican cathedral was officially recognized as the largest in the world. Construction work had to be halted again due to a lack of funds in 1999. The cathedral is open for guided tours. Its central hall is distinguished by a chic design. Its ceiling height is 38 meters. Beautiful elements of decoration made of precious wood and marble are preserved here.

If you visit the cathedral on a clear day, you can see how impressive the large rosette window looks. Many beautiful sculptures, slender columns, high vaulted ceiling decorated with carvings – these are just some unique elements of the design of the ancient cathedral. It is customary to consider the cathedral as a single whole with the garden located nearby today. It's called the Biblical Garden. All the plants mentioned in the Bible were planted in it. Peace Fountain is one of the main decorations of the garden.
