The Schloss Belvedere is an equally remarkable place to visit. The palace was built in the Baroque style at the beginning of the 17th century as the summer residence of the Austrian princes. The building is truly historic – for example, in 1955, a document was signed in the Upper Palace proclaiming the independence of Austria. Today, both the Lower and Upper Belvedere are used as galleries, which often host art exhibitions. Schloss Neugebäude, which according to legend was built on the site of the Sultan Suleiman’s fortress in 1529, is an excellent monument to Mannerism. Despite this, it was often used as an ammunition depot and as a factory because of its location (it is situated far from the tourist trails).

There is another building in Vienna connected with the name of Friedensreich Hundertwasser – namely, Kunst Haus Wien, the so-called Museum Hundertwasser. This place is simply incredible, just like the architect himself. You cannot find a more picturesque place in the hometown of Romy Schneider (only the already mentioned Hundertwasser’s house and the “village” named after the architect can compete with it). One more place you will find interesting in terms of architecture, is known as Arik-Brauer-Haus. This is a residential building which can be associated with “neatness” and “comfort”. It was built based on the project of another famous architect Arik Brauer, between 1991 and 1993. The paintings on the walls of the house are very unusual, and worth taking a close look at.
