In Mumbai, there is a beach, which is probably no tourist as attractive. The once beautiful and clean Chowpatty beach looks today rather than a giant trash heap, which serves as the seagull. Although the beach is regularly cleared, the garbage piles are not smaller. This is because Chowpatty has been the place where many national holidays have taken place for many years. And on the weekend the parties or festivals are held here.
The experienced tourists claim that the coast in the late summer looks most clean and beautiful when prepared for the annual festivals Ganesh Chaturthi. Before the holiday the beach is carefully cleared. On Chowpatty you set the big stage. The festival dedicated to God Ganesha usually begins at the end of August and lasts until September.
The festival is incredibly interesting and always attracts the many tourists. The snake charmers, the monks, the astrologers and the painters, as well as the excellent gymnasts and the musicians, take part. The only drawback of these great events is the incredible amount of garbage left on the beach. After the beach was chosen as a permanent place of the major events and holidays, it was almost unsuitable for the usual repairs.
