Certainly, one of the most famous and most visited museum in the world is the Elvis Presley Museum located in Memphis. The sight is situated in the estate of Graceland that belonged to the musician during his lifetime. It became available for fans in 1982. Since the opening of the museum, it causes a lot of controversy and criticism. However, already in 1991, the estate-museum has been enlisted in the National Register of Historic Places. In 2006, it was declared a National Historic Landmark.

The musician spent in Graceland the last years of his life. Personal belongings of the King of rock'n'roll are now kept there. In many rooms, everything remains unchanged for more than a decade. In addition to the personal belongings of the musician and his family, you can see costumes, in which Elvis Presley appeared at the stage, his portraits, and old photographs. A luxurious bedroom of the musician enjoys a special popularity among visitors. Everything was carefully preserved there. A billiard room also has a very unique design.

A rich collection of antiques that allows us to consider it a unique historical monument is stored in Graceland. Here, you can see the antique furniture, tableware, and even old toys. The idea to open a museum in an old mansion is owned by Priscilla Presley, the wife of the world-famous musician. Despite the fact that much of the manor rooms are now open for public, several rooms are closed even for museum employees. After seeing the collection of the museum, don’t rush to leave its territory. It’s always worth a stroll through the extensive gardens and admire the marvelous flower beds. Then you have to participate in an important ritual of signing in a fence with your autograph.
