Kalmar Castle is known as the main historical monument of the town. Every day the halls of the castle greet new visitors who have come to attend an excursion. The room of Erik XIV Vasa is considered the most beautiful. The walls of the room are decorated with elegant wall plateau with finest crafts. In the rooms you will also see old furniture and fantastic details of the interior. The town is surrounded by park that was founded yet in 1880. Here you can see different exotic plants, many of which are totally uncommon for this region. Each evening fascinating music performances take place in the park.
One more interesting fact about Kalmar – all bridges in the city are in private ownership of local people, so now each bridge is decorated with a plate featuring the name of the owner.
