Tourists, who visit America, can also see several wrecked ships. The most attractive place for it is Lake Huron located on the border between the United States and Canada. For about hundred years this lake was a passable one, approximately 6 000 wrecked ships are now at the bottom of it. A great number of drowning boats and ships you can see near the Thunder Bay.
The lake is very popular among divers form the whole world. Most of them come here to see the drowning ship "Sweepstakes" that was wrecked in 1885. The place where he has found his long-lasting parking place is shallow waters, just 6 meters separate the ship from the air. That’s why not only divers can adore with this ship but also tourists on the boats. It is a miracle that the ship has saved its good shape under the water after more than 130 years. There are organized the outstanding boat excursions for tourists. During the tour, you can see the most interesting underwater sightseeing.
The second ship of interest in these waters is "The City of Grand Rapids". In 1907 the ship was on fire in dock area Tobermory in order to escape the great fire in the dock it was decided to tow the ship as far as it possible. In the end, it was impossible to put the fires out and the ship has burned to ashes and drown. Today it is at the bottom of Lake Huron at a 4,5 meters depth. Everybody can see it through the clear water of the lake.
