The Transfagarasan mountain road is located in Romania and passes in the Carpathians. It is a real world attraction. Repeatedly referred to in the television show Top Gear, the road is known to be one of the most difficult and dangerous highways in the world. Its construction began in 1970 and was completed four years later. The highway has become a shortcut between Transylvania and Walachia.
