Arizona can be called the cradle of true American cuisine without any doubt; this is here where indigenous residents of the United States come from and where the country's largest Indian Reservation of Navajo is situated. Unfortunately, the national cuisine has virtually disappeared in modern life, so foodies will have to go to one of the Indian settlements to taste classic dishes, as they won’t find anything with special flavor in local restaurants.

Agriculture and cattle breeding have always been principal means of livelihood for indigenous people. In the early 20th century, local authorities took away a significant portion of Indian land, so now agriculture and stock-raising are experiencing difficult times. Breeding sheep and goats, growing corn and legumes is the basis of the labor of local farmers, like it was many hundreds of years ago.
