Neither a beginner nor an experienced diver will be disappointed by the diving near Ko Tao. However, if you don’t want to get a license and learn how to operate a diving equipment, but you do want to see the underwater inhabitants, you can try snorkeling. The visibility is good, it is up to 40 meters, and the beaches are deserted. Just be careful: during the low tide, the water level goes down, so you shouldn’t dive with a running start. You should definitely rent a boat or take a water taxi. Beautiful nature is the main landmark of the island, and you can reach most of the remote beaches only by sea. You should also try to spend a day visiting Ang Thong National Park. It consists of more than six dozens of the marvelous islands, which no man has entered. If you have a desire and a required level of training, you can choose several routes and climb the tops of the mountains. There are also some respectively exotic entertainments. How do you like the idea of playing paintball in the jungles? Or to practice Thai boxing with Thai coaches? Or maybe you want to spend weekends, doing bungee jumping or kayaking down the local rivers? You see, there are a lot of options.

Though, it should be mentioned, that the second popular activity in Ko Tao after diving is trekking. Choose a route to your taste and start exploring the jungles! You should definitely go to the Two View observation deck. If you still have some energy, visit the John Suwan mountain in the South of the island, Fraggle Rock in the North, and some other places in the central part. Visit every bay, every beach. Koh Nang Yuan, Freedom Beach, Laem Thian, Mango Bay, Hin Wong Bay, Tanote Bay – all of those places are special in their own way. Try to watch every sundown on the island in a new place, the setting sun colors the surrounding nature in different colors. If you like photography, certainly make at least some pictures in every big bay on the island.
