Ko Tao does not attract only those, who like diving. Although, most of the tourists come because of its beautiful underwater world. There are several reasons for such popularity of the island. The first and probably the most important one is good visibility and a comfortable water temperature. Another important factor is that the diving sites are close to the island. A rare trip to the diving place will take you more than an hour. And the final reason is that it is cheap. There are many diving schools on the island and you will usually find an instructor, who speaks your language, and the rent of the equipment cost less than in other parts of Thailand.

What is interesting is that Ko Tao is in second place in the world for the quantity of PADI certificates. Some centers provide accommodation for the time of the training. The underwater world of Ko Tao is very rich. Here you can find sea turtles, and stingrays, and barracudas, and reef and whale sharks, and sometimes even a rare sixgill shark. However, if you don’t want to get a license and learn how to operate a diving equipment, but you do want to see the underwater inhabitants, you can try snorkeling. The visibility is good, it is up to 40 meters, and the beaches are deserted. Just be careful: during the low tide, the water level goes down, so you shouldn’t dive with a running start. You should definitely rent a boat or take a water taxi. Beautiful nature is the main landmark of the island, and you can reach most of the remote beaches only by sea. You should also try to spend a day visiting Ang Thong National Park. It consists of more than six dozens of the marvelous islands, which no man has entered. You should enjoy the view of this place at least from the sea. If you want to stay a little longer, you can stay for the night at Ko Wua Talab. Copyright www.orangesmile.com
