In the Chinese province of Guizhou is located the Dongzhong Cave, which in a matter of days gained worldwide fame. The cave was formed several thousand years ago, and it is remarkable that in 1984 it was decided to open a school there. It is situated in a small place called Mao. Even presently there is practically no infrastructure in it. In the 80s of the last century local authorities promised to build a school in the village, but they did not keep their promise.
Local residents found a solution independently. The facilities and sports grounds for the students they equipped directly in the cave. Dongzhong will not surprise its guests with an abundance of colours and unique stalagmites. In bright colours it "is painted" only by an echoing children's laughter. The cave is quite spacious, it can easily accommodate up to 200 children. It is equipped with real wooden desks, as well as a basketball court.
In 2011, by order of the government, the school was closed. The authorities promised to build a real, modern school for several hundred students in the village. However, the Dongzhong cave has not lost its tourist popularity. It will be interesting to everyone to look into it. In addition to the equipped pavilions, in which hundreds of children mastered a school program a few years ago, typical representatives of the local fauna - lizards and bats - can be seen in the cave.
