During a trip through the USA you can visit the Lechuguilla Cave, one of the most difficult to reach places in the country. This remarkable scenic sight is located on the territory of the nature reserve 'Carlsbad-Caverns National Park' and is one of the longest caves on the earth. Its extent is more than 222 km. The main attraction of the Lechuguilla cave is the incredibly beautiful crystal formations that are a destination for thousands of researchers and scholars from all over the world.

Until 1986 nobody knew about the existence of the largest and deepest cave in the USA. The entrance into the cave, the so-called Misery Hole, was much earlier, opened in 1914. It was a relatively small shaft with a depth of 25 meters. In 1986 the new branches of the cave were discovered in the excavations. At present, the maximum measured depth is 489 meters.
The cave is closed for the free visit and its location is strictly kept secret. Only the research groups can see the beautiful splendor hidden in the cave. In 2007, BBC Television was exceptionally admitted to the cave. In the national park, where the cave is located, the exciting hikes are offered to the tourists. Even if you can not get into one of the most beautiful caves in the world, the walk will give you a lot of impressions next to this striking natural site.
