Fans of walks along unusual fabulous places should go to the village of Armoy in Ireland. It is known to the whole world because of its surroundings. That’s a dark alley that resembles a frame from a horror movie. This natural tunnel of beech trees really looks very intimidating. An amazing story is associated with the alley. It was planted in the 18th century by the Stuart family that owned the land. A row of trees served as a natural entry into the territory of their estates. For more than 200 years, the old alley was greatly expanding. Now, trees are closely intertwined with each other. The place looks particularly impressive just after sunset.
It is noteworthy that not only the old alley, but the Stuart’s manor has survived. Today, the latter houses a prestigious golf center. Walking through a dark alley at a dusk is the test not for faint-hearted. Branches of the trees cast strange shadows inside the tunnel. While walking, you can’t help the feeling that someone is present nearby. Today, the amazing beech lane is one of the most visited and photographed sights of Northern Ireland, and many come to these places hoping to see a sign of the mysterious Grey Lady.
More than a hundred years ago, a young girl died under mysterious circumstances in one of the houses close to the alley. Locals claim that its restless soul settled among ancient beech trees and usually comes for a walk after sunset. The place where the Dark Hedges is located, was officially recognized by the scientists as an anomalous zone. Plenty of unexplained things are happening there.
