Duisburg is one of large European port cities and a former important industrial center. Here are also organized river excursions and cruises. Three-bay pediment house is the oldest building of the city. It was built in the 16th century. For a long time this house has been owned by the local municipality and then it was given to young painters, modelers and designers. Today the house is the home to several art galleries and ateliers. Numerous exhibitions and other culture events often take place there. The building of the old port granary is today used to keep the exposition of Museum of History. Art connoisseurs should visit the Museum of Wilhelm Lehmbruck that exhibits 50 works of this internationally famous painter.
