The castle was built much later, in the 15th century. The stones that once formed the feudal castle were used as the main building material for its construction. The territory of the historic district of the city is home to a no less beautiful sight - Fort-de-la Bastille. The location of the castle is very unusual - a high rock, the top of which can be reached by cable car. During a walk through the park area, tourists will be able to admire the beautiful historic quarter, which looks simply unique from a bird's eye view. Saint-Andre Cathedral is located nearby. The construction of this church took place in the 13th century. During its long history the church has never undergone a major renovation, so it has survived till these days in virtually its original form.

Perhaps the local Archaeological Museum is the most interesting cultural institution in Grenoble. During the excavations near the shore of Isere Lake scientists found a lot of old jewelry, ritual items and household supplies. Now everyone is welcome to see these priceless discoveries.
