Utrecht Hotels in City Center

In Utrecht there is the oldest religious building in the Netherlands; the first mention of the Cathedral (Domkerk) dates back to the 7th century. The ancient religious building was severely damaged by fire in the mid13th century; hundred years later it became the place to build a new cathedral, which is now called Domkerk. The Cathedral owns its name because of the unusual architectural form; it resembles a tall tower with a scenic facade. The cathedral is 112 meters height; everyone can climb to the special viewpoint and appreciate the panorama of the city.
The lovely cathedral is not the only unique attraction in Utrecht. In the immediate vicinity of the city there are most extensive fortifications of Holland, Kasteel de Haar. Surrounded by a deep moat, the castle has well preserved after a century. There are incredibly beautiful parks and gardens next to it. Vacationers could admire the interior of the castle and find out the amazing story of an ancient fortress during regular guided tours.

Sight of the later period is Rietveld Schroder House. The house named after architect was built in 1924; it is considered one of the most interesting landmarks of Utrecht. The excursion around house includes viewing informative film about the great architect; visitors can also appreciate the unusual interior of the building.
