At first sight you may think that you have come to one more big crowded city, full of famous companies and offices. Just look closer and you will see all fascination of this nice city. Utrecht is a city of variety which can easily relieve the monotony of your everyday life. And you will be definitely flabbergasted by what you see! Utrecht's ancient city-centre features many buildings and structures from its earliest origins onwards. Utrecht is called the heart of Holland and is one of the oldest Dutch cities. The canals and quaysides have a worldwide fame because no other city has pedestrian quaysides along its romantic 14th century sunken canals.
City is a perfect place for shopping and especially Hoog Catharijne, the biggest indoor shopping centre, attracts tourists' attention. Not far from it is located the museum quarter, a collective of six well-known museums. If you can't decide where to go first - 'Domplein'(Domsquare) is a great choice. Utrecht is famous for its Dom Tower of, belonging to the former cathedral (Dom Church). This city has a minor skyline, dominated by the Dom tower. Take a deep breath and be ready to climb the 465 steps of Holland's highest church tower to observe all those people bustling about.
