When you're in the mood for some outdoor pastime and activities, it’s high time to visit Krahnenufer Park. It is located on the bank of the Mosel River not far from the waterfront. The park is a miraculously beautiful place that is smothered in lush greenery and flowers in summer. Children can walk in the park and enjoy various activities, such as duck feeding. Fans of walking will be pleased to find some interesting old constructions such as dockside cranes and historical buildings. Children are usually excited to examine the cranes and look inside to see the carefully preserved original design.
The small Petrisberg Park, which is open on top of a hill, is also not deprived of interesting peculiarities. It’s better to visit the park if you have older children as a walk on the hill may be quite tiresome for babies. The main reason why so many tourists visit Petrisberg is simple – it offers a fantastic panorama of the city. Fabulous observation decks of the park offer breathtaking views of main historic landmarks of Trier, as well as mountains with lush flora that surround it.
Nature fans cannot fail to visit well-groomed Park Nells Landchen that is home to cute ducks and swans. Children are always very excited to feed the beautiful birds and also walk near the lake. There is even a magnificent rosary with numerous beautiful sculptures in Park Nells Landchen. Charming benches at the lakeside are perfect for relaxing and admiring the view. Many visitors take food with them in order to enjoy meals in the open air, but often a significant share of the food goes to ducks and swans that are absolutely not afraid of people.
