Searching for open roof cars

Preset configuration of the white form above - search for an exotic car or a cabriolet at 'Lubeck - Luebeck-Blankensee Airport'. Address: Flughafen Blankensee, Blankenseer Strasse 101, Luebeck, Germany.

In Lubeck, we provide vehicles at 2 different rental locations. Cars with a folding roof are rather of a rare type, so they are mostly offered in airports and railway stations.

We advise booking a cabriolet in Germany in advance (several weeks or even several months prior to your trip), since the availability of convertibles in our car park is quite limited.

Lubeck, Germany: cabriolet rental hints
The most widespread cabriolet models offered for rent in Germany are: BMW 3 series Cabriolet, Peugeot 206 Cabriolet, Renault Megane Cabriolet, Audi A3 Convertible, Audi A4 Convertible and BMW Z4 Roadster.

At the booking time, please check the rental conditions carefully. Quite often, rental offices in Lubeck require two credit cards to guarantee issuance of a cabrio or a roadster.

We recommend ordering additional no-excess insurance that covers your risk (franchise), since the franchise amount for cabriolets in Germany is quite high.

Make sure to inspect the rental invoice issued at the office in Lubeck and compare it with the information indicated in your voucher. Sometimes, rental officers make 'unintentional' mistakes in rental invoices.

In parking garage, examine the vehicle for defects and scratches carefully. If you find any of them, check whether they have been specified in your rental document.

When parking a cabriolet in Lubeck, it is recommended to unfold the roof and close windows in order to prevent theft or robbery.

OrangeSmile.com wishes you an exciting journey with an open roof around Germany!

Driving Advices for Germany – Traffic Regulations and Road Usage Peculiarities
Previous hints
If you notice an extraordinary situation on your way, it is important to turn on the emergency signal to warn cars that are behind of an accident. They will do the same, so all the cars will find out about the congestion and will slow down.
Regardless of the type of a road, drivers are recommended to move closer to the right lane. In case the vehicle in front of you moves slowly, you can gently overtake it and then again move to the right lane.
Inexperienced drivers should avoid driving on the left lane of an autobahn. Many local motorists, who use the left lane, often ride at the speed of 200 km/h, so it is better not to get in their way.

Enjoying sights of Lubeck in cabriolet

Lubeck is a port city located on the north coast of Germany in Schleswig-Holstein land. The Trave River flows near the city. As a Baltic port which had had an advantageous geographical location, Lubeck grew rapidly during the Medieval. The city was founded in the XI century, when it was built on place of the Slavic fortress. In different times Lubeck was a free imperial city, and the principal city of the Hanseatic League.

Lubeck is situated in the northern part of the country, so the city hasn’t had an opportunity to build houses, churches and cathedrals made of limestone. This material was very popular due to fashion trends in the gothic architecture. However, the local masters found the solution – they used simple bricks in the building of Gothic facades and arches. Because of this fact nowadays tourists can see great examples of the Gothic art and enjoy amazing looks of the buildings constructed in the Medieval. Among such buildings are Lubeck Cathedral, the Hospital of the Holy Spirit, Town Hall with a raised carved facade, the church of St. Peter, and many other sights.

Old Lubeck is easily identified among modern buildings because this part of city is built using red bricks. Old town or the Altstadt is situated on the island that can be reached on two old bridges - Holstenstor and Burgtor. Among the attractions of this place tourists may like many churches. The most famous of them are the Church of St. Mary and the Romanesque-Gothic Cathedral, the House of Buddenbrooks (this house is also the home of writers Thomas and Heinrich Mann), the Museum of St. Anne, the Museum of History of Marzipan, the Museum of Arts and History of Culture, museum of theater puppets, and many other places of interest.
