The private residence Buddenbrookhaus is of the same cultural interest and historical importance. The residence was built in the first part of the 19th century. This landmark will be of greater interest for genuine gourmands as the magnificent building hosts an upscale restaurant serving ethnic cuisine. The symbolic landmark of the city is the Holstentor. It is a part of the fortifying construction which was erected in Lübeck in the middle of the 15th century.
