Each year the Finistere Aperte (Open Windows) program is held within the festival. The program enables the guests and participants of the fest to take part in the process of production of ham as well as suggests various tastings, exhibitions and festive concerts. A production center of the popular ham treat is considered to be the Langhirano commune. The area hosts several large companies as well as the popular Museum of Parma Ham located in the Bocchialini street.
The collection of the museum introduces the visitors to the history of development of ham production. Exciting excursions and cultural events are held within the ham holiday. There the tourists will also find one of the specialized stores offering popular sorts of ham and meat. The festival is not limited to gastronomy events only. During ten days of the holiday the city witnesses numerous exciting competitions and performances of famous musicians, bands and singers. Local restaurants are actively involved in the festival offering its guests a special holiday menu.
