Travelers who wish to enjoy some local delicacies have to visit Andimahiya village. There locals sell homemade goat cheese, honey and small tomatoes jam; tourists often buy these national delicacies as gifts for family members.
Kos is known for its clean environment, the island has repeatedly won awards because of it. Travelers must comply with the general rules: don’t leave any litter on beaches and in other inappropriate places, and don’t damage plants. For any violation a large fine may be issued.
All major resorts are open for tourists literally all year round. Tourists are encouraged to visit the island during the main national holiday, Hippocratic Oath festival. The cultural program during this period is full of various activities. The date of the festival should be specified in advance, every year it may change slightly.
Going for a walk to the shops, tourists have to pay special attention to the leather and footwear of local production, as well as ceramic dishes and handmade carpets. All products are of high quality, many of them are made by hand and are unique.
