Konstanz hosts lots of national festivals which would be quite interesting to visit. The Seenachtfest traditionally runs early in August. It has been held for more than sixty years, but according to historical records, the first such celebration had held in early 16th century. Over the past decade, the Seenachtfest festival became known outside the country, it is visited by many tourists from all over the world.
The majority of shows take place at 3,5km long embankments of Lake Bodensee. Here entertainment programs for adults and children are hosted. Cafes located there offer lake fish and other seafood dishes as well as opportunity to enjoy street artists, music and other shows. Sea Fair provides tourists with lots of souvenirs and local handcrafts.
Festival main event is huge sea fireworks. It's the biggest fireworks in Europe with hundreds of missiles light up the sky attracting thousands of rapturous spectators. In addition to performances of street actors, musicians and circus artists, in the festival program are included exciting water entertainments.
