Sightseeing in Petach Tikva - what to see. Complete travel guide

Just like any old town, Petach Tikva is full of remarkable places and historical monuments, which attract travelers from other countries. One of the most well-known landmarks of this place is Tel Mulabis Mound. The archeological excavations don’t stop here even nowadays. They have revealed many artifacts from the first settlement (the Romans lived here in the prehistoric era).
One of the most notable buildings of Petach Tikva is located in the heart of the city. We are talking about Baron's Ark, which has been built in honor of an outstanding leader Baron Edmond de Rothschild. He provided much support to this town during its formation, so many streets and squares here are named after him.

The city's most visited cultural institution is the Museum of Art housing more than 3,000 works by outstanding masters. In this museum, you can see works of both famous Israeli and foreign artists, the age of many of the paintings presented here exceeds 200 years. The museum often holds temporary exhibitions devoted to the work of young artists.

Not so long ago, a conservatory was opened in the city, a visit to which would be interesting for all music fans. It is equipped with several large concert halls; classical music performers from around the world, as well as popular musical bands from Israel, are frequent guests here.

Petah Tikva has one more interesting feature, which is not known to most tourists visiting the city. A few years ago, ten red telephone boxes brought from London were installed in the city. Now it is the only city in Israel where travelers can take a photo against the background of an original red box. They are located in different parts of the city, the search for these amazing sights can turn into an exciting quest. One of the London boxes is near Haim Ozer district where you can also find popular street food stalls.

The most amazing story is associated with the name of Philip of Luhansk, who in the early 20th century visited the shrine and took to homeland a sprig of already withered oak. He planted it near Ilinka station in Rostov region in Russia. In a few years, a lifeless sprig became a nice young tree, next to which a healing spring appeared later. At the moment, the old oak has a guardian. That’s a local resident, Anwar, who is caring for the tree. He is always happy to arrange guided tours for tourists, as well as to encourage them to buy uncommon souvenirs, which are bark of the ancient oak and its acorns. …
