The Kliluk Lake in Canada is also known under the unofficial name 'Stained Lake', which fully describes its main particularity. The sea water has a very complex mineral composition which has the highest concentration of magnesium sulfate, as well as silver, calcium, titanium and sodium in the world. During the summer season, when the vapors are highest on the surface of the lake, they are dyed in different colors, which is what the many tourists look forward to. On the surface of the sea are the many-colored patches of the whimsical forms. The shape of the basin changes gradually and constantly.
The water rich in the minerals has the various therapeutic properties that the Indians, the Indians of the Okanagan tribe, knew several centuries ago. Currently, the territory on which Kliluk Lake is located belongs to the Indians and is closed. Many travelers prefer to graze at the sight of the nearby highway. Some tourists succeed in getting permission to enter the closed territory.
Such lucky mushrooms have a unique opportunity to see the lake close by and to buy the original souvenirs. From mud of the lake, the locals make the beautiful talismans and amulets. Since the lake is not deep, some mineral islands are exposed as a result of the strong evaporation in the summer, so the tourists can literally walk on the sea surface.
