A new hotel opened in Kuta only in the mid-20th century. Its name was Kuta Beach. For long twelve years, this hotel was the only accommodation available for foreign tourists. The popularity of the hippie movement was like a breath of fresh air for the resort. When looking for a job in Asia, hippies reached a strange place where hotels didn’t have any electric lighting until the 60s of the 20th century. Because of this, hippies couldn’t stay in the village at night. They were sunbathing in Kuta in the daytime and returning to Denpasar after sunset every day. Kuta locals started offering their own houses for rent for tourists. The first comfortable hotels in the resort appeared at the end of the 20th century.

Where can tourists relax in Kuta? There are four most popular beaches on the coast of the Indian Ocean. The urban village’s beach is the first one. It is widely recognized as one of the best beaches in Indonesia. Every year, gold sand and comfortable wide coast attract thousands of tourists to Kuta. There are many trees near the beach that protect vacationers from the scorching heat. Kuta Beach has a well-developed infrastructure, so this coastal area is suitable not only for leisure sunbathing but also for having fun and participating in various local entertainments.
