The Kavango-Zambezi reserve is unique in every way. Spanning approximately 444000 square kilometres, it has common borders with Angola, Botswana, Zambia Zimbabwe and Namibia. There are no boundaries in the reserve, which allows its inhabitants to move freely within a wide area. The largest nature reserve in Africa includes some national parks, particularly Chobe and Okavango Delta regions.
Lots of world famous attractions including the Victoria Falls are located on its territory. The Kavango-Zambezi reserve was established not long ago, in 2011. Creating an enable environment for free animal migration was one of the main challenges of the five states. For the above mentioned countries the conservation area is an important tourist point. Every day Kavango-Zambezi is visited by thousands of tourists from around the world.
Elephants are the main representatives of wildlife in the reserve. A little less than a half of these majestic animals from the total number of African elephants lives in the conservation area. Moreover, the plant life is equally phenomenal with more than 600 species, many of them unique, and the most scenic areas in the region have become a home to 300 species of birds.
