La Palma is the third in terms of population and only the fifth largest among the Canary Islands. There are beautiful national parks, and cozy sand beaches, and architectural monument of past centuries. You can safely take a child of any age and character with you to La Palma. Yes, there are no aqua parks or big amusement centers on the island, but you can always go to the neighboring Tenerife. The journey won’t take long and will definitely be pleasant for both a child and a teenager. It is not every day that you find yourself in the open ocean, watching one volcanic island going away and another one coming closer. If you want, you can go to Paraiso de las Aves zoo – all children like watching animals.
If your child likes to learn flora and fauna or he is just curious, you should definitely visit La-Caldera-da-Taburiente National Park. Not only small children, who are just discovering the world will like it here, but also experienced little travelers. Where else will you find a gigantic two-kilometers-deep crater, an igneous rock, or a 200-meters-high gorge, which the locals call “the valley of fear”? There are a lot of routes of different complexity all around the park. Choose the one, which will be suitable for your child, and start discovering a unique nature of volcanic island.
