Bergen with its variety of attractions and entertainment will be a great place for a family holiday. Many guests of the city first and foremost, go to the Bergen Aquarium. This is an amazing and interesting place where you can see dozens of fish species, among which there are some quite rare ones. One can also visit fur seals shows and watch the sea turtles. In the aquarium, there is a very interesting and beautifully designed terrarium, in which a collection of snakes and small crocodiles live. Interesting performances are conducted every day for visitors, with the participation of marine animals. There is an aquarium and an excellent 3D-cinema here.
It is very difficult to find a museum that would be interesting to eager kids. However, in Bergen there is such a museum, the Old Voss Steam Railway Museum. This museum is located in the heart of the city, in the territory of a vast park. It can be visited for free. The main “exhibits” of the museum are old trains, which were carefully preserved and today are in excellent condition. All visitors to the museum can take a walk through the old rail wagons, look at its peculiar interior, and admire the view of the park from the windows. Visitors are even offered a ride on some old trains.
Another museum which is worth a visit with children is the University Museum of Bergen. It presents a very diverse collection dedicated to the natural sciences. Children will be interested in the huge skeletons of prehistoric animals, including marine animals. During a fascinating excursion, they will be shown rare discoveries of archaeologists. Another attractive feature of the museum is the surrounding garden, which is especially interesting in the warm season. It literally drowns in the abundance of greenery and flowers.
