Palermo - Roadster/Convertible Hire

Searching for open roof cars

Preset configuration of the white form above - search for an exotic car or a cabriolet at 'Sicily - Palermo Airport'. Address: Palermo Punta Raisi Airport, Palermo, Sicily, Italy.

In Palermo, we provide vehicles at 7 different rental locations. Cars with a folding roof are rather of a rare type, so they are mostly offered in airports and railway stations.

We advise booking a cabriolet in Italy in advance (several weeks or even several months prior to your trip), since the availability of convertibles in our car park is quite limited.

Palermo, Italy: cabriolet rental hints
The most widespread cabriolet models offered for rent in Italy are: BMW 3 series Cabriolet, Peugeot 206 Cabriolet, Renault Megane Cabriolet, Audi A3 Convertible, Audi A4 Convertible and BMW Z4 Roadster.

At the booking time, please check the rental conditions carefully. Quite often, rental offices in Palermo require two credit cards to guarantee issuance of a cabrio or a roadster.

We recommend ordering additional no-excess insurance that covers your risk (franchise), since the franchise amount for cabriolets in Italy is quite high.

Make sure to inspect the rental invoice issued at the office in Palermo and compare it with the information indicated in your voucher. Sometimes, rental officers make 'unintentional' mistakes in rental invoices.

In parking garage, examine the vehicle for defects and scratches carefully. If you find any of them, check whether they have been specified in your rental document.

When parking a cabriolet in Palermo, it is recommended to unfold the roof and close windows in order to prevent theft or robbery.

OrangeSmile.com wishes you an exciting journey with an open roof around Italy!

Driving Advices for Italy – Traffic Regulations and Road Usage Peculiarities
Previous hints
The brand of a car does not play any role in the organization of the traffic. All cars have the same rights on Italian roads. Drivers are also not recommended to change lanes very often, ride on the side of a road, and try to overtake cars in a rough way. Such a behavior is not accepted here and will surely cause a lot of frustration.
Super senza Pb (95th unleaded petrol) remains the cheapest type of fuel. The most advantageous way to refuel is to use special self-service petrol stations. Their fuel prices are slightly lower than in large petrol stations. Before driving to a petrol station, make sure you have a sufficient number of money in small denominations.
In Italy, any usage of cans for refueling and fuel storage is prohibited. Therefore, it is impossible to buy petrol to make a "reserve". However, drivers are unlikely to have difficulty finding petrol stations. There are many of them even on roads far from large cities.

Enjoying sights of Palermo in cabriolet

An original architectural attraction is Cuba Palace. Built in the 12th century, it had been the residence of Sicilian kings for many years. The name of the palace derives from its regular cube shape; it is designed in the best traditions of the Moorish style. Many elements of the building's original decoration have been preserved. Now the ancient palace houses an interesting museum dedicated to the Arab culture.

Another vivid monument of the early Middle Ages is the Zisa Palace built more than 800 years ago. This magnificent palace was erected by the order of King William I, who later used it as a hunting residence. Over the years, the palace has been rebuilt many times, so almost completely lost its original look. Today it is characterized by typical classic medieval features. This palace is open to the public and houses the Museum of Islamic Art.

Theater fans should definitely visit the Teatro Massimo Vittorio Emanuele. It is Italy's biggest opera house and one of the largest in Europe, which regularly welcomes world-class opera singers on its stage. The sumptuous opera house was built in the late 19th century. It occupies a very beautiful classical building supplemented by original elements of decoration in the ancient Greek style. Nearby is a small landscaped garden, as well as some beautiful well-preserved old sculptures.
