One of the busiest tourist places in the city is Grafton Street. Many beautiful historic buildings built in traditional style, have been preserved in it. The most popular souvenir shops of the city, and many other excellent national restaurants and bars, are located here too. This luxury street is one of the most expensive in the world in terms of rent and purchase of housing. There are several prestigious hotels located here.
One of the oldest buildings in the city is the “Christ Church Cathedral”. It was built in the 11th century. Over hundreds of years of its existence, the facade of this historic building remained virtually unchanged, while its interior decoration was completely renovated during the last restoration in the 19th century. One of the main secrets of this picturesque cathedral is a cozy patio, decorated in a Victorian style.
There are many interesting museums in Dublin. One of the most unusual among them is the Guinness Storehouse. It is located in a historic building, which was one of the shops of the Guinness Brewery factory in the 8th century. This shop was closed in 1988. A few years after the closure of the shop, it was decided to open a museum in the large building. Its exposition is very multifaceted and is devoted to the history of brewing. Among the exhibits, one can also see old equipments from the factory.
