The Alexander Papadiatmatis House is based in the capital of the island. In the 19th century, a famous Greek writer lived there. It became possible to recreate a special atmosphere of the previous years inside. Today, visitors can see what the writer's office looked like and the things that belonged to him. Among the exhibits of the museum, there are many ancient manuscripts, documents, and photographs, as well as other valuable antiquities.
The Cathedral of the Three Hierarchs is no less interesting religious monument. It was built over a hundred years ago. Due to the beautiful carved Bell Tower, it is one of the most recognizable sights of the island. The ancient cathedral keeps many spectacular relics. The icon of God Mother Panagia Iconistra is the most valuable one. It attracts pilgrims from all over the world.
