No less interesting is the annual Burgerausschuss Munsterscher carnival, held by locals before the beginning of the Lent season. This is one of the oldest, most original and diverse holidays celebrated by the local residents. The event involves many engaging competitions, craft fairs and workshops for both children and adults. During carnival days, colorful processions take place on city streets, where all participants try their best to surprise the audience with unusual outfits. And, of course, no carnival would be complete without special holiday treats. Given that one of the main symbols of the city is a bicycle, it’s not surprising that Munster holds the annual Münsterland-Giro bicycle race. The best thing about it is that you don’t have to be a professional athlete to participate. Many locals are well-trained and experienced cyclists, so there are always enough people to take part in the race. Long story short, Munster didn’t become one of the most beautiful and attractive cities in Germany by a chance, as it boasts many fascinating features and signatures that can’t be seen elsewhere in the world.
