Lester B. Pearson International Airport, corporately branded as Toronto Pearson International Airport is the main airport of Toronto and Canada. It is located 27 kilometres from Downtown Toronto, in the city of Mississauga. The airport was named after one of the prime ministers of Canada in 1984. The airport was built in 1939. It is entitled to carry out preliminary flight border control in the United States. The airport operates 5 runways. Passengers are serviced in two terminals, which are T1 and T3. Moving walkways in Terminal 1 are actively used for passenger movements. The airport has a separate VIP terminal. Lester B. Pearson International Airport is capable of handling 50 million passengers a year.
The Link Train automated people mover runs between Terminals 1 and 3. The train stations of Toronto are easily accessible from the airport by the UP Express train service. The Airport Rocket route provides public express bus service from YYZ to such city's underground stations as Kipling station, Lawrence and Lawrence West stations. The buses depart from the two terminals. Transit buses go to the city centre from Terminal 1. Taxis and limousines can be accessed at taxi stands behind the terminals. Rental offices, how to find them, where to return car
You can rent a car from several companies, the offices of which are positioned on the first floor of multi-level parking garages in front of the terminals. Lester B. Pearson International Airport features the following companies: Avis, Alamo, National, Budget, Dollar, Thrifty, Enterprise, and Hertz. Passengers can visit information desks of the companies in Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 (on the first level), in the arrival zone, at the exits from the baggage claim halls. So as to contact the car rental facilities, you may use the toll-free numbers, which can be found at the information desks or on the website of the airport.
The rental vehicles are collected from and returned to the parking spaces in the parking garages. If a different car return location has been indicated in the rental agreement, the leased car is returned in accordance with the agreement.
The car rental companies are also placed at Viscount Station, which is at the end of the Link Train line. You can rent here not only sedans, but also minivans, minibuses, and trucks. Such companies as E-Z, Nu, Ace rent a car, Jet Car Rental, Economy Rent A Car, Roadstar/Mex rent a car, Payless, Zoom, Routes Car and Truck Rental, Discount Car and Truck Rentals operate in this car rental facility. Drivers usually collect their rental cars from the parking.
Long-term and short-term parking, hotels nearby
2 multi-level public parking garages are situated in the territory of Lester B. Pearson International Airport, in front of the terminals. The parking garage next to T1 is connected to the terminal building by enclosed pedestrian walkways. Another parking garage is stationed opposite T3. The parking garages comprise spaces for express parking, daily parking, long-term parking and economy parking. The airport offers valet parking (you should look for the corresponding curbside signs near the terminals).
The Sheraton Hotels and Resorts is set beside the parking garage. Both the infrastructure facilities are connected to the passenger terminal by the walkway. The ALT Hotel and the Travel Hotel are nestled in the vicinity of the territory of the airport.
