Religions and languages in Ireland
Two languages have been officially approved in Ireland: English and Gaelic. The second language is often referred to as Celtic. It is in its structure, a kind of Indo-European dialect. Please note that Gaelic is considered by the local population as their native language. It is used in schools and higher educational institutions. However, it is difficult to ascertain whether the ethnic populations of Ireland all possess a good command of this language.
