In the Italian town of Matera, rich in historical sites of the world, one of the most interesting and beautiful hotels in the world - Le Grotte della Civita. The Sassi caves, carved in the rocks, are considered to be one of the main tourist attractions of the city. Once upon a time some of the locals resided in a normal house. Today a part of the old caves is assigned to the hotel.
The hotel has 18 rooms, which are furnished with the beautiful antique furniture and the small crafts of the local masters. One of the peculiar peculiarities of the rooms is lack of any technique. In the rooms there is no electricity. At dusk, the candles are the only source of light. This peculiarity is a tribute to the traditions of the locals, some of whom lived in the caves until the middle of the 20th century and were able to do without technical achievements.
