Furore Fjod, Italy

From series “The Hidden and Hard-To-Reach Beautiful Beaches”
Italy also has the magical beach. The wonderfully beautiful Furore Fjord is not like any other beach in the world. It has formed in the small rocky gorge and is surrounded by high rock walls on both sides. The hidden beach is located on the territory of the city of the same name, but you can not reach it as easy as it gets.

Furore Fjod, Italy The guests of the neighbors prefer to go to the beach by boat. The road to the city by land, cut from the rocks, becomes rather long and strenuous. The population of the tiny town of Furore is no more than 800 inhabitants and there are only a few small hotels, so the beach is never crowded. The picturesque coastal stretch is covered with the large bright pebbles. The coast is very gentle and quiet, and is therefore excellent for recreation with the children.

The holidaymakers can leave the coast at any time and stroll in the picturesque town or climb up the top of one of the rocks on the steep staircase and rate the beach from the height. The strange natural harbor attracts not only the followers of the restoration, but also the ornithologists. Here, in the high rocks live the rare bird species, including the rare hawk. Mediterranean Italy offers all tourists in search of beautiful places to visit Amalfi that is an incredibly charming and gorgeous vacation destination. In recent years, Amalfi has become a true tourist mecca. This paradise on earth attracts cinema stars, famous politicians, and other celebrities. The striking beauty of local nature and a well-developed tourist infrastructure make Amalfi a paradise for vacationers.

According to the history of Italy in the 9th to 13th centuries, there were four republics in the country at that time, namely, Pisa, Genoa, Venice, and Amalfi. The governments of these republics were taking efforts in establishing strong trading relations with Europe and the East. Amalfi was one of the major cities on these trade routes. It became an independent region by the end of the 9th century. Local people had a unique talent – they could avoid wars and large conflicts and preferred to negotiate all problems with other regions and countries, strengthening their commercial ties.

However, the history of Amalfi had dark periods as well. In 1135, troops from Pisa completely destroyed the fleet of the Italian commercial city. Amalfi couldn’t protect itself from invaders who plundered the city. The once well-developed republic of Amalfi ceased to exist. However, the wheel of fortune brings not only disasters but also prosperity. Thanks to incredible beauty of this region, Amalfi survived and became a popular city again. Nowadays, this is a renowned and well-established tourist center in Italy.
