In Italy, next to Monte Tok Bergmassiv is Vajont Damm - the largest dam in the country, whose height is 261.5 meters. The dam parameters are quite unusual, the length of the crest is 190 meters, and the width of the dam on the ground is 23 meters. The width of the ridge is one of the smallest in the world and forms less than 4 meters, making Vajont one of the 'finest' dams in the world.
The disaster has completely destroyed dozens of villages that were located in the Monte Tok mountains. According to the official data, the natural catastrophe has cost 1 900 people, although the unofficial data indicate 2,500 victims. Today nothing reminds us of the terrible tragedy. The dam built in 1959 looks as faultless as on the opening day. In 2001, the film 'Vajont has left: La diga del disonore', dedicated to tragedy 1963. The fans of the exciting film have been visiting Vajont Damm for many years.

In this case, the ride will last three hours, and travelers need to make three changes. If going from Bolzano, the ride will last two hours and requires one change. Finally, a ride from Treviso lasts three-four hours and requires two changes. Buses from Dobbiaco reach Cortina d’Ampezzo within forty-fifty minutes.
