Phi Phi Don is a popular yachting place but you can also find there not very expensive food and room. Although it is still not the place for those who do not have much money and decide to travel not in groups but individually. There are interesting caves in Phi Phi Leh worth exploring, many of which contain ancient paintings and are home to sea swallows. Local people get to the tops of these caves and take birds from their nests to cook a bird's-nest soup.
Krabi is accepting more and more visitors every year.
A small town 814 kms. from Bangkok is quite a pleasant place if you want to spend there a few days before going to the beaches. The spectacular limestione karst scenery and monsoon forest is really something that shouldn't be missed. You can have a chance and visit any of the forest parks such as Koa Benja National Park with its caves and waterfalls or Nam Tok Hoay Toe and swim in the pools. You can also take a day trip to Pha Nga bay to observe irregular shaped mountains rising out of the sea above traditional Muslim fishing villages on stilts.
