Tegucigalpa, Honduras This resort is located in the southern part of Honduras. The name of the city can be literally translated as "silver hill". It was founded in 1536 as an industrial center, has long remained the largest mining area and a place of extraction of precious stones and silver. In 1880 the country’s capital was transferred to the city. After this the city began developing as an administrative center.

Several excellent museums operate in the city. The Military Historical Museum keeps a unique collection of exhibits. The collection is devoted to challenging for Honduras times, to the history of the struggle of its people for independence. In the museum one can see collections of old photographs and newspaper clippings, leaflets and all sorts of military attributes, more or less associated with the old days.
The Museum of Anthropology and History introduces visitors to the amazing natural world. It has an excellent collection of fossils, samples of plants from various regions of the country, stuffed animals and birds. One of the most beautiful places in the city is Morazan Square. The square got its name in honor of the first president of the state. Tegucigalpa You should definitely come by the Honduras Historical Museum, which occupies a chic 19th-century building. It is considered the most beautiful architectural monument of the capital. The most popular viewing platform in the capital called Parque la Leona is located at a short distance from the city center, at the very top of the hill. Travelers who want to visit the site in the evening should take a taxi. Walking around at night is unsafe here.
