Fiji’s one of the biggest towns - Nadi - is a popular tourist destination. Wonderful weather, mild climate and valuable historical heritage make Nadi an ideal place for rest.

Sri Siva Subrahmanya Swami temple is the most famous sight of the city and its symbol. This is the biggest building of this type and it looks like a huge colorful pyramid rich decorated in religious ornament. The height of the temple estimates 30 meters and its halls are full of wonderful statues picturing Indian gods. Opposite to the temple is opened one of the local markets, where tourists can purchase memorable souvenirs and jewelry.

Nadatola Beach is traditionally the most beloved place of rest for tourists. Here you can also participate in the organization of excursions to distinct villages, visit the garden of orchids, and take a ride on a boat along the coastal line, or simply rent a scuba and explore rich underwater life. The most picturesque place is the Nausori region as here you will see rich woods, fast mountain creeks, and ice brooks. Nausori is a real paradise on Earth that attracts people so much that you will not want to return to urban life. Here you can also visit the so called “Garden of a Sleeping Giant” that contains large collections of exotic plants, flowers and trees. The big part of this botanic garden is dedicated to orchids – overall more than 2,000 orchid types are present here. When you get tired, take some rest in one of cafes or tea houses that are built right between the spacious hothouses. Tourists, who enjoy shopping activities, will be happy to visit one of several markets and trading pavilions that sell absolutely everything – from refined seafood to national costumes and souvenirs.

Very interesting object from a historical point of view is the Barra family house, once owned by a famous actor. This old mansion managed to almost completely preserve the atmosphere of past years, its visitors can see antique furniture, interior decorations and unique pictures of the famous actor. Next to the mansion is a charming tea house in which museum visitors can relax after sightseeing. The mansion is located on a hilltop; next to it are some excellent viewing platforms.  Copyright www.orangesmile.com

Not far from the Nadi Airport is the original market, which is also very popular among tourists. In this market, local artists and artisans offer their works, and you can choose the perfect souvenirs. Many tourists visit this market as an art gallery. Here you can buy beautiful paintings, handmade jewellery for home decor, as well as classic souvenirs for reasonable prices. 

Those fond of nature should definitely visit the Garden of the Sleeping Giant - an incredibly beautiful and interesting botanical garden, which contains an amazing collection of exotic plants. Here you can see one of the world's richest collections of orchids, these flowers here are represented by about 2000 species. Botanical Garden is well equipped for relaxation, right here among the greenhouses beautiful gazebos are places, and cosy cafes and teahouses are also working. 

Among the fans of unusual excursions Aviva Farm is very popular. This is an old family sugarcane farm, which was reformed a few years ago into an ecological farm and made available for public access. Today, on it are carried out very interesting excursions for tourists, during which they can learn to care for pets, study horseback riding, and furthermore visit attractive shop, which sells organic products. 

Getting familiar with the local gastronomic traditions is one of the special occasions of such holiday. In Nadi restaurants you can try a lot of unique dishes, including "Bulolo" - fried sea worms. Those who are not yet ready for such culinary experiments are offered a traditional pudding made of cassava, which are prepared on these island with a constant recipe for several hundred years.
