Vacation on Dubai Region beaches - hidden bays, top resorts and recreation areas

Number of natural beaches in Dubai is relatively small; their total length is less than 70 kilometers. To compensate this deficiency, active construction of artificial islands and beaches is held on the coast. The man-made island Palm Jumeirah is the world-famous resort. Very soon there will be also similar islands in areas of Deira and Jebel Ali. The so-called Arab Channel of 75 kilometers length is one of the most famous among artificial waterways.

One of the few beaches free for visiting is Jumeirah Beach Residents; its length is about two kilometers. The vast majority of visitors of this picturesque sandy beach are local residents, as well as tourists resting in nearby hotels. The beach doesn’t feature upscale equipment and it’s always very crowded, but it isn’t critical due to the long coastline. There are many entertainment options available to tourists - they can ride a camel, stroll along the picturesque Jumeirah Beach Walk or relax in one of the local restaurants. There is a sports equipment rental on the beach, so surfing and snorkelling fans like to rest there.

Well-kept attractive beaches are found on Palm Jumeirah; Palm Beach is their common name. Each stretch of coast here belongs to a particular hotel or apartment complex. Some beaches are accessible only to guests of local hotels, while others have a modest fee to attend. Among free beaches, Jumeirah Beach (Open) is notable; its length is about 800 meters. The beach is located along the Jumeirah Beach Road; it is an ideal place for families with children. There is a magnificent playground with a variety of attractions for younger visitors; adults will appreciate the presence of changing cabins and showers. The beach is in great demand among tourists and indigenous population; however, it’s almost never crowded. There is a very beautiful park in close proximity to the beach, where you can also relax in a hot day.

An important feature of the so-called Dubai beach parks is that they have entry fee. Jumeirah Beach park is very popular; the length of its coastline is approximately 900 meters. The total area of Beach Park is about 13 hectares; besides the equipped coastline, it has great recreation areas, playgrounds, sports fields and a terrace for barbecues, as well as cafes and concert venues. Several days a week, entrance to the park is allowed only to women with young children.

On the outskirts of Dubai there is another attractive beach park, Al Mamzar Beach. It completely occupies the picturesque peninsula. The coastline of the park is more than 3.5 kilometers. Emirate's most beautiful beaches with white sand are located there. In addition to standard services, cozy cabins with air conditioning and full equipment are available to visitors.
