Dnipropetrovsk will please fans of fascinating excursions with a rich choice of historical and architectural monuments. The city has many interesting museums, galleries and theaters. One of the most beautiful architectural structures is the "Transfiguration Cathedral", the construction of which began in 1830 and lasted almost five years. The church was completely restored in 1975 and today it is one of the most significant historical sites of the country.
No less interesting excursion facility is the "church of St. Nicholas", erected in the early 19th century. In the middle of the 17th century the first wooden church appeared on its place, and a hundred years later it was decided to destroy it and erect a stone building in the classical style. A beautiful stone building in the style of classicism has survived to this day in its pristine condition. Immediately after the completion of construction, its walls were adorned with skilful paintings, which visitors can still admire today. According to historical data, the first religious building on the site of the modern cathedral appeared in the middle of the 17th century. Over time, the wooden church decayed and in its place it was decided to erect a larger construction of stone.
