Cadiz, Spain: Hatchback Rental
The most popular models representing the mini, compact, and economy car segments in Cadiz are: Peugeot 107, Smart Car, Toyota Aygo, Chevrolet Matiz, Hyundai Atos, Kia Picanto and others.

When hiring a budget hatchback, it is definitely worth saving on insurance deposit (franchise). Deposits on small cars in Spain vary from 100 to 1.000 euro/dollars. Check the rental conditions of each car in your selection to find a vehicle with a minimum deposit.

If your routes in Spain are foreseen to pass through hilly areas or mountains, it is not recommended to consider very small cars for rental. Their engines are usually insufficient for a confident driving on the roads with long or steep climbs.

At the rental office in Cadiz, consider to take a 'Breakdown Assistance' package or ask an officer for a contact data to use in case of a vehicle breakdown. Cheap cars are sometimes unpredictable in operation.

Upon receipt of the rental invoice, please check that all the information, as well as the final payment amount do match the data in your voucher.

Driving Advices for Spain – Traffic Regulations and Road Usage Peculiarities
Previous hints
If a road is marked in red, it means that one cannot stop a car there. If there is one or two yellow stripes painted on the pavement, parking there is also prohibited. These parts of roads allow only pick up and drop off of passengers, and this should be done very quickly.
Drivers should be particularly careful about sections of roads marked with the “VADO” sign. It means the place of entering a garage. Naturally, leaving a car near those signs is prohibited. If a parking area is marked with a blue line, it is prohibited to leave a car there for more than 1.5 - 2 hours.
Cars parked in the wrong place will be most likely transferred to a penalty parking area, and the owner of that car will get a fine of 100 euro. If you need to leave a car for a couple of minutes, you can simply turn on the emergency light, but the term “a couple of minutes” should be taken literally in this case.

Sightseeing of Cadiz, Spain

In the heart of the historic district is the beautiful Genoves Park, which will delight all nature lovers. Many exotic plants and flowers, as well as rare tropical plants that are not found in ordinary parks, can be found here. There is also a very interesting palm garden, in which you can see a variety of palm trees. This charming park is very popular among tourists with children. On its territory, there is an elegant pond in which ducks live. Vacationers can feed them.

One of the most picturesque places in the city is the Plaza de Espana, located near the port area. In this region, besides the original landscape decorations, there are many symbolic monuments, each of which reminds of an important turn in the history of the city. This square literally drowns in the abundance of green plantations. Next to it are several beautiful old buildings.

In the past, Cadiz was a major trading city. For hundreds of years, various defensive fortifications were built on it. Now a reminder of the trading past of the city are the 129 patrolling towers preserved on its territory, the most famous among them being Torre Tavira. It is located in the very center of the historical district and is its highest building. The tower rises to an altitude of 45 meters. Currently, within the walls of the tower is a very interesting museum dedicated to commerce. A significant part of the exhibits in it belongs to the 18th and 19th centuries.
