Local stores and markets accept Euro and USD. Currency should better be exchanged in specialized exchange offices which are located close to the city center and scattered around large shopping centers and stores. The currency exchange offices charge a lower transaction fee than hotels do.
Tourists looking to visiting scenic areas of the island and to spending much time in the open air should have some insect protection means. These can be bought in advance or in any local stores. The cost for incest protective means is rather low.
To rent a car one will need a standard set of documents including passport and international driving license. Clients under 21 may be denied in service rendering.
