One of the main activities of locals for several hundred years has been fishing. On the island of Hjertöyä, it is possible to visit a museum dedicated to this fishery. The variety of its exhibits is incredibly great, from the surviving examples of old fishing boats, to the various intricate devices that local fishermen used during the fishery a few hundred years ago.
On the market square of Molde, there is a very beautiful saxophonist sculpture made of bronze. This place is considered one of the most romantic in the city. Behind the bronze musician, there is a large observation deck with a wonderful view of the fjords and mountains. This monument was established in 1992. It became a gift to the city on the 250th anniversary. Now the beautiful monument reminds locals and tourists about the annual cultural event - the International Jazz Festival, which has been held in Molde for many years.
Walks on the Romsdal Peninsula, are very popular among visitors with children. On its territory is an interesting museum in the open air. It is stylized as an old fishing village. In each of the miniature wooden houses is hidden an interesting collection of exhibits. Here you can see items of antique utensils and national costumes, and also visit a nice fish restaurant or go fishing with a guide.
