Perhaps the most popular area in the resort town is Le Morne Beach. Many consider this beach the best for watching the sunset. This is a kind of unique spot with the so-called "underwater waterfall" - it is from here that one can admire unsurpassed views of the waterfalls (by the way, this is what attracts many to visit the "Little Paradise" of Mauritius). Besides, views of the picturesque beach from the mountain are unbelievably breathtaking. The beach itself provides all conditions for practicing various water activities like kitesurfing and boating. Besides that, the beach has a historical component - it was on this beach that African slaves jumped into the sea fleeing the European colonists. A festival is held on the beach every year in November to commemorate this tragic event.
Cruises to Crystal Rock and Île aux Benitiers in the Indian Ocean are quite popular. This place is fabulously beautiful so one should never miss the opportunity to ride a boat to the Crystal Rock. It is a rock of an unusual shape, which is sure to amaze not only children but even adults. Île aux Benitiers (Benitiers Island) is a true peaceful oasis where tourists and locals like to hold various theme parties - all because it offers spectacular views of Crystal Rock and the coast of Mauritius.
